9 Key Factors to Consider As you Evaluate Your Financial Readiness for Career Change

Online Workshop & Coworking Session AU$33
Are you thinking about leaving your teaching job?

In 2023, I ran a survey of over 250 Australia teachers and 59% said they were thinking about it seriously.

There’s plenty of other data out there about it too, and you probably just know from working in schools in the last few years how common this is.

It's well known that the workforce shortages are really starting to bite.

The thing is—and please hear me when I says this—leaving teaching isn’t a panacea for all your problems.

I’m not necessarily saying you shouldn’t leave. But career change is actually a really big deal with a lot of factors to consider.

Top of mind for most teachers I’ve talked to in the last 18 months is money, and with good reason.

“Can I afford to leave teaching?” is such a common question, one I’m sure you’ve asked yourself.

 Let’s explore the answer, together.

Join me for a unique 2 hour workshop on April 20th (replay available) where we look at 9 financial factors you need to consider when deciding whether you can afford to leave teaching.

Then, we’ll spend some time in virtual coworking as you begin to gather your own financial data to start getting a clearer picture of whether you can afford to leave.

You don’t have to share that information with anyone, btw. The coworking session is about carving out time on your calendar to actually sit down and begin the process of looking at your numbers.

If you’re familiar with the neurodivergent concept of body-doubling, that’s what we’ll be doing: working on a task that we would otherwise put off, because we have the added encouragement of others working alongside us.

Facing your finances can be scary, but it’s a very important part of making an informed choice about your career options, now and into the future.

Financial self-care is too often overlooked but it’s crucial for your ongoing personal and professional wellbeing and satisfaction.

 So let’s tackle this together.

NB: If you are already a student of my ‘Before You Leave Teaching’ course, you already have access to this workshop so please don’t buy it!

About the presenter: Ellen Ronalds Keene

Founder of Self-Care for Teachers and host of the Teacher Wellbeing podcast.

I help teachers cultivate personal wellbeing and navigate career transitions.

I'm a teacher turned wellbeing coach and I have a strong focus on my clients as 'people first, teachers second'.

I've been coaching teachers since 2015, supporting them with a range of wellbeing and career goals. I also have a growing library of on demand resources to support teachers to be proactive about life, work and wellbeing.

Important disclaimer: This workshop is not financial advice. It is information about 9 important financial factors to consider when evaluating the viability of career change. After the information session there will be a coworking session to work on gathering your personal money information, privately, while supported and encouraged by others working on the same thing.

I strongly suggest you also seek independent financial advice for your individual situation from a licensed finance professional in your state or territory. However one of the first steps they will do is ask you to provide them with your personal financial information, so this session is about gathering that information together into one place.

Career change is a significant decision, particularly for teachers grappling with financial concerns in this crazy cost-of-living world.

Join me on April 20th for an exclusive 2-hour workshop (with replay available) as we delve into 9 key financial considerations essential for evaluating the feasibility of transitioning from teaching to another profession.

Then, through a virtual coworking session, you'll have the opportunity to privately gather your financial data, enabling you to gain clarity on your financial situation.

Navigating your finances can be daunting, but this supportive environment fosters accountability and encourages action.

I want you to make well-informed career decisions, and protect your personal and professional wellbeing.

So let's prioritise your financial self-care, together.
